| On 5th and 6th March 2012, the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (CEUMC), General Håkan Syrén, visited EUFOR Headquarters in Sarajevo.
During his visit, the Chairman was briefed by the Commander EUFOR, Major General Robert Brieger, on EUFOR's role in the framework of the European Common Security and Defence Policy, on the current operational activities and capabilities and on the ongoing Capacity Building and Training initiatives conducting with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Furthermore, CEUMC had the opportunity to meet with the EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, and visit the Sarajevo Liaison and Observation Team.
The main purpose of the visit was to better understand the general situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Balkan region.
