Hosted by the Spanish Presidency, the European Union Military Committee met in informal session in Sevilla, Spain, to discuss on the new challenges, and related military capability requirements, the European Union might be called to face in today and future security domain. During the first day of the visit the Military Representatives of the Chiefs of Defence visited the European Union Satellite Centre in Torrejon (Madrid), where they received a detailed presentation of the ongoing activities, with particular attention to the Centre's support to operation Atalanta off the coasts of Somalia. Finally, the Spanish Presidency organised for the EUMC a visit to the EADS-CASA factory in Sevilla, where the delegates had the opportunity to be briefed on the capabilities of the new A400M Military Transport Aircraft.
