The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, Gen. Syrén, was honoured to open in Stockholm (Sweden) the 10th Chemical-Biological Warfare Protection Symposium, attended by about 1100 delegated coming from more than 40 Countries.

In his keynote speech, CEUMC conveyed the perspectives of the European Union on the strengthening of CBRN-security. Stating that CBRN-protection has been and remains a vital concern in military operations and defence planning, Gen. Syrén underlined that it has also become a permanent security concern, in peacetime, for the entire civilian society.
