The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, Gen. Syrén, attended in Braşov (Romania) the fourth conference of the Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) of the Balkan Countries, gathering the military top-leaders of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and, as distinguished guests, those of Croatia and Slovenia.

In his intervention, CEUMC praised the role of regional cooperation and underlined the fact that it represents a suitable vehicle for promoting projects and best practices that might be later considered by the European Union as a whole.
