The Chairman of the European Union Military Committee (CEUMC), Gen.  Håkan Syrén, visited  Berlin, upon invitation of the Chief of Staff, Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces), Gen. Volker Wieker.  The main topics of the meeting session and exchange of views that Gen. Syrén had with Gen. Wieker and his closest staff at the Federal Ministry of Defence, were the ongoing EU operations and the German contribution to the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP), the capability development and the ongoing transformation process of the German Armed Forces.

CEUMC also visited the Bundeswehr Operations Command in Potsdam, where he was briefed on the German Armed Forces international commitments.
