Gen. Syrén, Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, had a meeting with Gen. Nikolay Makarov, Chief of Defence of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Main topic of discussion was the increasing security challenges the International Community have to face and, as a consequence, the need to seek for closer and more effective cooperation in the security domain, in particular between the Russian Federation and the European Union.
