Defence Attaché Briefing - 29 March 2012
A Defence Attaché briefing, hosted by the EU Military Staff, took place in the Lord Jenkins Meeting Room of the Charlemagne building on Thursday 29 March 2012 between 0900 hours and 1300 hours.
The goal of this first informal meeting was to intensify the dialogue between the EU Military Staff and interlocutors from Partner Countries.
The event was also supported by the Crisis Management and Planning Directorate (CMPD) and the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC).
The organisation of this Defence Attaché brief was in line with the drive of the External Action Service to enhance CSDP partnerships.
Defence Attachés and Representatives from more than 65 Partner Countries to the EU, were invited. It is hoped that this will enhance transparancy, and assist in exploiting opportunities for further cooperation which should prove to be mutually beneficial.
This approach reflects the cooperation developed by the EUs Crisis Management Structures over recent years.
In the future, it is intended to host a similar briefing twice per year.Overall the Defence Attaché briefing was a great success.
