EUBAM Rafah Head of Mission, Colonel Alain FAUGERAS, participated today in the Palestinian Intermediate Leaders’ Course jointly organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Interior and the Office of the United States Security Coordinator.

Invited as a guest speaker, Colonel FAUGERAS delivered a lecture on Border Security Operations to 50 middle-ranking officers from all branches of the Palestinian Security Services attending this four-week course. 

 The presentation given by EUBAM Rafah Head of Mission focused on the different requirements to survey borders and to control border crossings, at the tactical and operational levels, and on the practical aspects of leadership on the medium command level.

As a senior officer of the French Gendarmerie, Colonel FAUGERAS worked all along his career in operational areas, from tactical to strategic level, in particular in the field of criminal investigation, law and order, crowd and riot control, legal advice, intelligence services and security border management. He was appointed as Head of EUBAM Rafah on 25th November 2008.
